Matt Bowden is the Director of Operations at Red Penguin Marine, with over three decades of maritime and subsea infrastructure experience. His career was shaped by senior service in the Royal Navy, including command and leadership roles at sea, before transitioning to the submarine cable industry. He provides strategic leadership across global submarine cable programmes, including interconnectors, offshore grid developments, and renewable energy export cables.

Matt is a United Nations OCDR submarine cable SME, advising national governments, insurers, and cable owners on subsea Critical National Infrastructure with a focus on cable resilience, threats, risks, and operations.
